The RealWear HTM-1 is a wearable technology that originally was developed to facilitate virtual reality meetings, demonstrations, training workshops etc. In the feedlot production environment, the functionality which includes hands-free operation of camera, microphone, speaker, ambient noise cancellation, head up display installed with customised software for accessing workflow templates / instruction resources / live stream connection to remote experts / email etc, applications for animal health and welfare are numerous.
Apiam Animal Health initially saw utility for purposes of antimicrobial stewardship and compliance, but have expanded this out to remote expert connection and telehealth applications which have proved useful during this challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As part of the Australian Lot Feeders Association’s BeefSmart Bites webinar series, Dr Tony Batterham will discuss this new technology.
