Dr Jonathan van Dissel BSc (hons), BSc (Vetbio), DVM

Veterinarian

Jonathan joined the Apiam swine team in 2021 having completed his veterinary degree at The University of Adelaide.

While undertaking his studied, Jono was actively involved in research activities in the pig unit at Roseworthy where he completed an Honours in Animal Science including undertaking research into multi-suckling and sow separation.

Originating in lower Mid North in South Australia, Jono has a keen interest in production and farm management with a particular focus surrounding farrowing house management.

Jono joined the Apiam team in February 2021.

As part of his role at Apiam, Jono provides teaching at the University of Melbourne to veterinary students, including the pig handling and necropsy practical sessions.

He hopes to continue building personal and professional relationships with our partners and clients whilst improving the quality of production for our farms.
