Apiam Animal Health is pleased to announce Shaun Welsh has been appointed to the position of Business Manager – Swine and Poultry Services.

Shaun joined Apiam in June 2017 as Pig Services Operations Manager – Northern overseeing all operational aspects of our Glencoe Boar Stud. In 2018, Shaun was appointed to Pork Storks Australia Operations Manager to oversee the operations of our Lethbridge Boar Stud, in addition to the Glencoe facility.

Shaun completed an Advanced Diploma in Farm Management through the University of Sydney Orange Agricultural College and was a Nuffield Farming Scholarship recipient, which enabled him to travel internationally to find out more about increasing sow production and other technologies which could improve efficiency in the Australian Pork Industry. 

Shaun has also had extensive experience in all aspects of farm and production management from small to large scale pig production in the Australian pig industry.

In his new role, Shaun will be head of the Apiam Swine Services team. His focus will be on the swine veterinary and production consultancy service, with the aim to improve client outcomes.

Shaun will work closely with General Manager Operations (Intensive) Amanda Vardanega and the Key Account Managers on all commercial activities. Pork Storks Australian operations will continue to be managed by Stewart Marshall.
