The Apiam Swine team are delighted to share the news that Kate has successfully completed her post graduate studies, a master in science (Animal Welfare) from the University of Edinburgh with an award of Distinction.

Kate is already putting her knowledge into practice as the only consulting veterinarian in APL’s Animal Welfare Reference Group.  She is across upcoming legislative changes and what they might mean for producers and hopes to be an amplifier of producers’ voices in this space. Kate has been working closely with clients attempting to rectify non-conformances and is a valuable source of knowledge for improving welfare on farm whether it be through housing changes, staff training or reducing mortality rates.
