Exotic Animal Disease Seminar hits the mark at AASV

What a informative Foreign Animal Disease session at the American Association of Swine Veterinarians meeting in Indianapolis! Following a panel discussion of experiences from three State Vet Officials, Dr Egan Brockhoff presented on what Canada is doing operationally and legislatively to manage the risk of animal pathogens in feed ingredients, Dr Jordan Gebhardt  from Kansa State University outlined US and other countries (including Australian) feed industry mitigation responses, Dr Rodger Main, Director of  Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, provided insight into the US Swine Health Improvement Program (US SHIP), a new disease surveillance program for the pork supply chain consisting of national standards that demonstrate status of disease freedom, and Dr Scott Dee and Dr Joseph Yaros from Pipestone Veterinary Services and others outlined research and real-life experiences with ASF.
Congratulations to #aasv2022 and all the speakers for presenting an informative last session.

The Apiam swine team was represented at the session by Chris Richards. Further details on each presentation will be posted on the portal over the coming days.
