Water Medication Systems a hit at Ballarat Pub ‘n Pork

A presentation and working model of a new Apiam Water Medication System designed to ensure effective medication of pigs drew plenty of interest at the Ballarat Pub ‘n Pork event. Having targeted approaches to effective disease control is essential as we continue to enhance antimicrobial stewardship. Water medication is often difficult in some systems and ensuring that pigs receive the correct dose can be equally challenging. The system was developed under the leadership of Dr Hugo Dunlop and meets the needs of implementing and monitoring an effective program.

In addition to this informative presentation, , Dr Sarah Jenkin welcomed guests to the event and presented on the ProSwine platform. Dr Jono Van Dissel gave a presentation on the new Breeding Production Board which is a valuable tool to assist with production planning and forecasting pig flows and  Dr Robert Suter spoke about vaccines.

An overview on each of the presentations will be available on ProSwine Central over the coming weeks.
