Apiam US distribution partner notified of label approval for antimicrobial surface protectant

Apiam Animal Health Limited (ASX:AHX) is pleased to advise that our US distribution partner Aurora Pharmaceutical has received notice from US EPA of label approval of the Xtend 21® Antimicrobial Surface Protectant.

Xtend 21 utilises the Zoono Microbe Shield technology system which Apiam was granted exclusive distribution rights in March 2021.

To launch the transformative product in the United States, it underwent rigorous testing at Iowa State University to prove its long-lasting antimicrobial surface protection for use in agriculture, veterinary and animal production markets in the US.

We are very pleased that the tests undertaken have demonstrated that this innovative surface protectant continued to show enhanced surface protection 21 days after application.

This research is a first of its kind for the animal sector and we see this as very attractive for customers that face challenges with microbial surface contamination which will soon be made available by Aurora to its wholesale network of more than 10,000 veterinary customers.

The Xtend 21 product has the potential to be applied to air filters, cool cells, loadout chutes, cabins and on trailers of livestock vehicles, enhancing antimicrobial surface protection.

Through the testing process, the product continued to show surface protection 21 days after application, even when that surface was washed with damp gauze at 7 and 14 days.

The development and marketing of products that enhance antimicrobial surface protection is consistent with Apiam’s long-term strategy to lead antimicrobial stewardship within the animal production segment.

We look forward to US sales of Xtend 21 commencing in January 2022.
