Apiam vets on their feet with Murdoch Rural Prac Students

Well done to Apiam’s Portec Vet Services team who volunteered their time on a weekend to teach budding future vets at Murdoch University all about hoof trimming pet pigs.

Following an update by Dr Kate Savage on her recent research, Drs Kim Nairn, Damian Holden and Sam Weekes ran a hoof trimming demonstration at the Murdoch Uni farm, educating 40 students over the course of the day.

Apiam swine veterinarians are involved in the veterinary teaching programs at Murdoch University in Perth, James Cook University in Townsville, and the University of Melbourne.

Apiam’s New Horizons Clinical Placement Scholarships also enable veterinary students to undertake further training across our rural and regional clinic network by supporting their travel and accomodation expenses.
