Formi GML and impact on microbiome in lactating sows

Research paper presented at Recent Advances in Animal Nutrition Conference on The impact of an agglomerate of dietary sodium diformate and monolaurate on the faecal microbiome of lactating sows. Co-authored by Dr Hugo Dunlop and Christine Sydenham from Apiam’s swine team.

With the inclusion of Formi GML in the lactating diet, there was a significant reduction in the abundance of clostridia spp by 42.2% and of streptococci spp. by 42.5% while the number of streptococci positive faecal samples dropped significantly by 79.6%.
