Will high rise piggeries ever be constructed in Australia? Even with a reduced footprint, unique effluent systems and potential efficiency gains, the increase in industrial farming is a move away from what we would consider sustainable farming practices – or is it?
In some countries, these production systems may enable the return of farm land for wildlife or alternative human food production. Is there any reason why poultry and fish cannot be farmed this way?
